Project |04 Dyslexia and Specific Learning Disability

As the SLD specialist, I receive many phone calls from parents and educators in the field asking about how a school should respond to a parent request for an evaluation when the suspected disability is dyslexia. In collaboration with a team of stakeholders including a dyslexia specialist, a literacy specialist from the CDE Office of Literacy and a parent dyslexia advocate, I led this project that culminated in two FAQ documents that answer various aspects of this issue.
